Privacy

We are committed to maintaining your privacy and allowing you control over how we use your data. In compliance with the General Data Protection Act that went into effect on February 20, 2020, we have updated our policies regarding how we collect and use your data.

We may continue to update our privacy policy over time, and will maintain this page so our users are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

Information Collection and Use

Your information is collected and processed, based on your consent, to fulfill your purchases and/or donations, to keep you up to date on our work and issues that are important to you, to maintain and expand our relationship with you and other supporters, and for our other legitimate purposes. See more detail below.

When you visit the site we collect your information in the following ways:

Information You Give Voluntarily

  • When you sign up to receive our emails
When you consent to receive emails from Global Fund for Women you will receive messages to take action, stay informed, join us for events, and support global women’s rights movements. Additionally, we may use your information to reach out to you online through social media channels and online advertising.
  • When you fill out a petition or online form
Throughout our website you might submit your information through various actions such sending a message of support, signing a petition, completing a survey, registering for an event, cause marketing, peer-to-peer fundraising, and communicating with us through other forms. Information collected may include your name, email address, physical address, phone number, and other personal information you share with us.
  • When you make a donation or purchase
In order to make a donation or purchase on this website, a user must first complete a donation or order form, on which the user must provide contact information (like name, email, and physical address) and financial information (like credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes, to fill supporters’ orders, and to provide donations receipts. This information will be used to send a tax receipt (if a donation is made) or purchased items, and relevant materials and outreach through the mail. If we have trouble processing an order or donation, this contact information can be used to get in touch with the user. We use a credit card processing company to fulfill orders using that payment method. The credit card company does not retain, share, store, or use personal information for any secondary purposes.
  • When you communicate with us online
Sometimes we request, collect and/or retain information when you communicate with us online, which may include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and other personally identifiable information you share with us. Information We Collect Automatically When You Visit our Site

Cookies

When you visit our site, you will be asked to consent to our use of cookies.

We use cookies, to customize content and advertising, to provide social media features and to analyze traffic to the site. We also share information about your use of our site with our trusted social media, advertising and analytics partners including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google Analytics.

Additionally, we use cookies to remember your billing address and gift details in your donation form. This allows you to leave the donation form and return without having to reenter this information. Your credit card information is entered once at the end of your transaction and is not stored by us in any way.

You can restrict or block access to this data at any time through your browser settings.

Log Files

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track how our supporters use our site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with an appropriate law enforcement investigation, current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process served on our website.

Direct Mail Information Sharing

To obtain the names of potential new supporters, Global Fund for Women rents lists of like-minded organizations from trustworthy third parties for use in direct mail. Because of the high cost of renting lists, Global Fund for Women will also, at times, exchange its list of supporters for another organization’s list, for one-time use only.

Users who do not want their name and address shared, rented, or sold can send an email to muktinari@yahoo.com/muktiorg@gmail.com.

We may use a mail house to send materials to our list. That company does not retain, share, store, or use personal information for any secondary purposes.

Security

This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

When our donation or order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card numbers), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry — SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Internet Explorer will become locked.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our supporters’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.

If you have any questions about the security at our website, you can send an e-mail to muktinari@yahoo.com/muktiorg@gmail.com.
